Start point Le Cros
A walk from doorstep of Les Hirondelles, this walk takes you through the village of Le Cros and up the hill, through the trees, to a viewpoint over the valley. This is an ideal walk for early on in your visit to the region, not too strenuous and plenty of shade for those hot and sunny summer days.

The first section of the walk is through the woodland, above the hamlet, with the second section being more open with less shade. Whilst walking through the woods it is possible to pick out the cottages of Les Hirondelles as the swimming pool can be easily spotted.

Walk Details: Leaving Les Hirondelles, walk up the hill towards the T-junction. Turn left to follow the lane out of the village, note the rabbit hutches in the garden on your left (Don't tell the children - they are not kept as pets!). Continue along the lane to reach another T-junction. This time turn right and follow the road up the hill through the trees. As the lane rises gently watch out for the various shepherd's huts along the route - there is one just to the right of the road, marked by a sign on a tree, there are others off to the left up one of the forest tracks.

Continue along the lane to reach an open area on the right, the viewpoint with its spectacular views out over the valley.Having taken in the views continue to follow the road until you reach a crossroads. Turn right towards La Feyte, and descend down towards this small hamlet. Continue past the small group of houses until you reach a metalled track off to the right. Follow the track to reach the next junction, and turn right. This road will lead you back into Le Cros to the junction close to Les Hirondelles.
